artist bio: burke is a multidisciplinary artist, animator and filmmaker based in waterford. his experimental film and video works feature abstract images and masked characters, often paired with abrupt narratives and unusual conditions. captured and edited through a mix of digital and analog methods, his films explore his own fascinations with contradiction and fakery. these elements can be uniquely activated by film as a medium, as a product and as a style. Each step of burke’s process further engages him with his idea of creative falsehood, through which he aims to find his end result; an oblique truth from an unreal dream.

After graduating from SETU with a BA (Hons) in Visual Art last year, burke has been working ever since on his films, paintings and collages. He has exhibited work across Waterford in Garter Lane, GOMA and the Old Market House in Dungarvan. Currently he is ‘in the middle of something’.
